Granular, creamy and tangy

Dating back to medieval times when every small Swedish village produced its own cheese, Svecia is the oldest representative of the Swedish cheese tradition. Its name comes from the Latin word for Sweden, Suecia. In 1997, Svecia became the first Swedish food product to be entered into the EU Protected Designation of Origin list. This means that a cheese can only be labeled Svecia if it is manufactured in Sweden using Swedish raw milk according to traditional recipes. Delicious on breakfast sandwiches, this creamy and tangy granular cheese works equally well on the cheese board and in cooking, as it has good melting properties and imparts a lovely colour.
